Abstract

In this paper, a thin reconfigurable polarization converter designed on a single substrate layer frequency selective surface to achieve linearly polarized and circularly polarized waves in state I and state II respectively is proposed. The polarizer works in transmission mode and is realized by printing a hexagon shaped unit cell on both sides of a Diclad 880 substrate. Reconfigurability among two polarization states of the converter in the frequency band 14.10-15.90 GHz is controlled by adjusting the width of slot in the unit cell.
