Retrospection on the Reform Practice of Chinese Social Welfare Institution

Abstract

Established in the 1950s, the current social welfare institution has become extremely important in guaranteeing the construction of socialist harmonious society after more than a half century's development and evolution. In retrospect of more than fifty years' development, achievements and challenges coexist. This paper holds that the suitable social welfare model for China at present is constructing appropriate generalized preferential welfare system under the "cooperative model".
