Abstract
A novel model for constant energy constellation (the data is drawn from equi-energy symbols) discrete time OFDM signal is presented. Based on this model the moments of the OFDM signal's envelope maximum as well as the moments of the energy of the clipped portion of the signal are computed. It is also shown that the rate at which the expected value of the maximum scales with the length of the signal coincides with Halasz' result. Simulation are presented, which show that this model gives much better results than the conventional Gaussian model in approximation of statistical properties of an OFDM signal.
