Eusebius on “Double Creation” (Praeparatio evangelica 11,23–25)

Abstract

Abstract The paper analyses the most significant exegesis of the Creation narrative in Eusebius’s work. This exegesis reveals Eusebius’s deep and hidden dependence towards Origen – especially his idea of a “double Creation” (intelligible and sensible Creation). The question remains which works of Origen were used by Eusebius and why Origen is not openly mentioned.
