The objective of this contribution is to provide a synopsis of the current psychoanalytic and educational literature on acquired traumata caused by flight and migration. One focus is on dissociation and transgenerational transmission of trauma, for which the scope of possible means for psychoanalytic educational prevention and intervention is elucidated. This especially concerns the pre-school and school stage as well as residential and university education, to eventually discuss resources and resilience in light of preventing premature pathologisation and stigmatisation.
