Abstract

Tuning of Power system stabilizers is an important aspect in maintaining the stability of the grid. Hence, proper tuning of it is gaining more significance recently. This paper presents a detailed tuning of Multi-Band power system stabilizer (MB-PSS) known as PSS4B. Thereafter, it is implemented on a real time simulation software HYPERSIM. A widely used Kundur two area power system model is taken as test case to perform the step-by-step design initially in phasor domain of Matlab.
