Abstract
A model validation methodology applicable to the advanced distribution management system is proposed, to guarantee the integrated common information model (CIM)-based distribution network model are reliable for the distribution management and optimization. The validation test rules for gross error detection, equipment unit consistency check, topology consistency check, time series consistency check and tempo-spatial consistency check are analyzed. A consistency check tool is implemented to apply the methodology. Finally, some results are obtained with the consistency check tool for a simulated case study to verify the proposed methodology
