Exploitation of known short and long symbols for carrier frequency offset estimation in OFDM wireless LAN systems

Abstract

In this paper, a new data model is developed based on known long and short symbols in OFDM WLAN systems. A maximum-likelihood method using this new model is developed. Its performance was investigated with comparison to some existing methods. The new method is shown to be able to provide improved performance.
