Big data analysis of the electric power PMU data from smart grid

Abstract

This research work focuses on data analytics to effectively interpret phasor measurement unit (PMU) data from smart grid. One difficulty in conveying data analytics capabilities is to describe things in terms of decision making and visual representation of the grid status for taking action. In this work, the smart grid data from several PMUs are used in the R programming environment for the integration, processing and analysis of the millions of PMU recordings in order to give an overall representation of the grid status quickly.
