The proposed IFA is designed with a compact size of 28.75 mm × 16.7 mm and printed on one layer substrate for the simple design and low-profile configuration, and cost-effectiveness. The IFA is modified by dividing the radiating strip in order to realize a multi-band operation. Each radiating strip operates in GSM850/900, and DCS/PCS/WCDMA bands, individually. The penta-band operation is realized by the proposed IFA which consists of both strips with reliable radiation performance. The size of proposed IFA is 140 mm × 80 mm including the size of the FR4 substrate whose thickness is 0.6 mm. The simulations are performed for analyzing the radiation performances and operation of the proposed IFA.
