O uso de esquemas de construção de palavras por aprendentes chineses de PLNM

Abstract

This paper analyzes the use of morphologically constructed words by learners of Portuguese who have Mandarin or Cantonese as their first language. The study is twofold: (i) the inventory of the morphological schemas used and (ii) the analysis of the deviations found in word formation. The first axis of the research will give us an idea of the intake of learning of the target language, that is, the information that learners retain from the input and use in their written productions (Corder, 1967). The second axis will allow us to observe the strategies used by these learners to fill gaps in their lexicon when writing in Portuguese and, in particular, the emergence of the learners’ derivational competence in this language, understood as the ability that each of them has, at a given moment, to relate and/or construct derived or compound words.
