Abstract

Defects in operation of the induction motors changes the harmonic components of motor supply current. In this paper, Motor electrical current signature analysis (MCSA) is used to detect the inter- turn short circuits in only one winding of the motor stator. In this paper, a theoretical study was conducted to determine the harmonics resulting from the presence of inter- turn short circuits.
