The type, quantity and interaction of parts are important factors for reliability improvement. This paper systematically analyzes the BOM structure of complex product and its relationship characteristics. On the basis of describing the reliability index of complex product, we introduce system endogenous variables and conduct sensitivity analysis on the influence factors to study the comprehensive influence mechanism of part types, redundant quantities and influence factors of interaction on the system reliability from series and parallel perspectives, respectively. Then, the paper proposes the reliability improvement path and modular configuration decision for the series, parallel and hybrid system. Abstract
