Abstract

A challenge in analog radar target simulation is the simultaneous simulation of multiple targets. Since all signal modifications are achieved through dedicated analog components, these systems do not scale well with multiple targets. To improve the scalabiltity of an analog radar target simulator, a tapped delay line can be used. This architecture uses couplers to simulate multiple targets simultaneously with the same set of analog components. In this paper we present how to use and optimize the coupling factor of the couplers inside a tapped delay line architecture for analog radar target simulation.
