A review includes: new PWM techniques, field oriented and direct torque control of induction motor (FOC and DTC), voltage oriented and direct power control of a PWM rectifier (VOC and DPC), and novel virtual flux (VF) based sensorless control of a PWM rectifier. Also, neural network and fuzzy logic based intelligent controllers for motion control have been discussed.
