Abstract
This paper presents experimental results for a stomach acid level monitoring device. The aim of the experiment was to understand the behaviour of stomach acid levels and to determine how a pH sensor can effectively detect them. The device was tested using various chemicals, with hydrochloric acid serving as the final test sample. The final stage of the prototype will be a swallowable sensing device that can help patients manage gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) by tracking acid secretion and providing timely remedies. The device will feature real-time acid level monitoring and will alert patients before acid backwash occurs. The alert will be sent to the user's device, such as a smartphone or a device with a browser, via RF (radio frequency) communication. A controller outside the body will act as an intermediary. The pH value was determined by interfacing a microcontroller and pH sensor, with proper programming. The resulting dataset of various pH values can be used to analyse GERD patterns in patients.
