Abstract

In this work, we firstly proposed a novel type of dynamically tunable attenuator based on effective surface plasmon polaritons (ESPPs) and graphene at around 5.6 GHz. This attenuator is designed by depositing a flat graphene sandwich structure (GSS) on the ESPPs waveguide to simplify fabrication. By applying an appropriate biased voltage, the surface impedance of graphene can be adjusted, and the attenuation can also be tuned dynamically from 3dB to 20dB.
