Investigative Analysis on the necessity of Electric Vehicles in Indian Automobile Sector

Abstract

Electric vehicles are an alternative vehicle type that may address the concern of pollution and energy dependency of a developing country like India on the outside world. Deteriorating situations like climate change, greenhouse gases emission, air pollution, decline in air quality and increasing fuel prices have put forth an in-evitable demand for EVs in India. The current situation of the Russia-Ukraine war and its geopolitics has posed a concern in which we should closely observe India's energy (crude) dependency on Western countries. The current situation is the best breeding ground for EVs in India. This paper aims to analyse the EVs market in India, its opportunities, constraints, challenges, and scope for the future in the EVs adoption in the market of India.
