Abstract
A high output power EDFA, based on the single-mode heavily aluminum co-doped active fiber, pumped at 1.48 /spl mu/m was fabricated and tested. A Raman converter based on single-mode P-doped fiber, having maximum output power equal to 900 mW, was applied as a pump source. A maximum output power as high as 28 dBm was achieved for the C-band signal and L-band signal as well.
