Hardware Trojans embedded in the dynamic operation of analog and mixed-signal circuits

Abstract

This paper introduces several examples of dynamic analog hardware Trojans. The dynamic circuits can have multiple operating modes, and the Trojan modes could be triggered if some initial conditions are added at the energy storage elements. Based on these examples, the Trojan dynamic operating modes can be either accidentally or intentionally embedded, even in the most widely used structures.
