Abstract

A feedback LPV control approach is proposed for a class of nonlinear matrix second order systems. With some assumptions satisfied, the nonlinear system can be converted into a Polytopic LPV system by the application of a nonlinear state feedback. Then the control law can be designed through LPV control techniques. The method is validated on a hub-beam system, which is first converted to the Polytopic LPV form by nonlinear state feedback. And the regional pole assignment is then considered for the resultant system via linear state feedback. Solution of the parameters of the controller is obtained by solving an LMI constrained convex optimization problem. Numerical simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
