High-frequency high-power converter

Abstract

A 3 kW (5 V, 600 A) pulse width-modulation power-supply module with a conversion frequency of 1 MHz and using an L-C snubber is reported. The circuit features are discussed in some detail, and the operation of the module is examined. The features of the main transformer, choke coil, smoothing capacitor, and main switch are described. Considerations in designing the component package and module layout are addressed.<>
