The chapter argues that al-Masʿadī’s literary and critical writings—like those of Abdelwahab Meddeb, al-Ṭāhir Waṭṭār, Assia Djebar, Driss Chraïbi, and Muḥammad Barrāda—invite us to reimagine the relationship between culture, politics, and ethics.
