Configurable Refined Structure Tree

Abstract

A configurable Business Process (cBP) is a BP that can be individualized to several BP variants corresponding to the BP instantiation needs. This paper proposes a methodology for the fragmentation of the cBPs into different independent blocks extended with the metadata of the variability options they are concerned with, expressed as logical expression. The extended fragments are structured and organized in a tree called configurable Refined Process structure tree (CRPST). The cRPST represents for the cBP what the rpst represents for the conventional BP, a technique for supporting, management, reuse, change of process model, analyzing and checking, etc.
