Broadband characteristics of T-shaped planar monopole antenna

Abstract

In order to realize the wireless broadband communication, a small antenna which has the ultra-wideband characteristics is required. The well-known planar monopole antenna features wideband characteristics, small size and simple structure. Thereby, planar monopole antennas of various shapes have been proposed. The paper proposes the T-shaped planar monopole antenna with a basis of rectangular planar monopole antenna. In addition, the structure of T-ledge which has the most broadband characteristics and the limitation of the broadband characteristics are clarified.
