Abstract

Nowadays, the Internet of Things (IoT) is a promising technology for handling emergency situations. IoT-assisted solutions provide support to handle many emergency scenarios in and around the globe. The IoT and emergency services are combined to create a more effective smart environment in the event of disasters, emergencies and fires. IoT has an important and widespread role in emergency services that could even save human lives. IoT systems monitor the situations and respond immediately in case of emergency environments. This article discusses the IoT architecture, applications and challenges in emergency services. Furthermore, this paper also explores the situations where IoT is considered as a use case.
