Standardisation Issues Within The RTI Area. System Requirements and Security Aspects

Abstract

Due to the problems and challenges within the transport area there is an increczsing need for an electronic infrastructure. Electronic technology and devices are developing all the time, and the number of manufacturers is getting larger. On the basis of these changes there will be a need for standards concerning functional and technical specifications within the field qr information technology and telecommunication. Transport is an area where the information secwiry aspects are of great importance and where a number of new problems arise due IO mobiliry aspects. The paper deals with some of the standardisation issues related to information technology systems within the area of Road Transport Informatics (RTI). The paper concenfrates on various system requirements and in particular on security requirements for both information systems and smart cards.
