Abstract

Laser ranging is a high precision ranging method commonly used in deep space exploration, which can be used to measure the distance between satellite and ground. This paper briefly summarizes the development of lasercom and ranging technology. Based on pulse position modulation(PPM), two-way lasercom and ranging are completed, showing the ranging system precision can reach 0.03 centimeters. The self-loop link is proposed to achieve initial calibration to solve the problem of initial random jitter. Finally, the future development of lasercom and ranging technology is prospected.
