Abstract
This study covers the theses written on aging issues in Turkey; It aims to analyze the year it was published, the region where it was applied, the context, the subject, the method features, the sample groups, and to determine the direction of their tendencies by making thematic analysis in terms of the situations that arise as a result. The thesis database of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) was used in the field of social work between 1980 and 2020 within the scope of five keywords: "over 65 years old", "old age", "aging", "healthy aging" and "attitude towards aging". The reviewed master’s and doctoral theses were subjected to thematic analysis using the "Article Classification Form" developed by Sözbilir, Kutu, and Yaşar (2012). As a result of the analysis, a total of 51 studies were evaluated, including 41 master's theses and 10 doctoral theses. While survey design, which is one of the quantitative research designs, is the most used in studies, survey, scale and interview forms are frequently used as data collection tools; It was determined that SPSS analysis was the most preferred among data analysis methods. According to the research findings, quantitative studies are frequently preferred in terms of research method; It has been revealed that individuals over the age of 65 have been the preferred sampling group while the random sampling technique has been the preferred sampling technique.
