Abstract

The goal of the economic load dispatch is to determine the optimal power outputs of on-line generating units in order to meet the load demand subject to satisfying various operational constraints over finite dispatch periods. Finding optimal solutions to these problems requires efficient optimization algorithms. Firefly algorithm and bat algorithm are the most recent methods and they already proved there efficient, but their aspect random present a disadvantage which is the instability of the results, indeed they depend on the random initial values generated by the program.
