Abstract
In this study, recycled materials, oyster shells sand is used to replace the river sand (0%, 5%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%) at fixed water-cement ratio 0.485 and six weight replacement ratio. The fresh properties harden properties at the age of 1, 7, 28, 56 and 98 days and durability will be tested. The results indicated the replacement of oyster-shell sand for 40%, chloride ion content was 0.23 kg/m3, the workability, strength and durability decreased, but it still meets the specification. Replacement which in the range of 5% to 10%, the strength was up to 80% of the control group. The result of sulphate resistance for the replacement is 10%, whose weight loss is similar to the control group. The proper amount of oyster shells to replace river sand had similar mechanical properties as normal cement mortar. It not only reduces waste amount, but also achieves the goal of Recycling.
