Abstract

The aim of this tutorial is to understand the key emerging communications technologies in today's communications marketplace. It provides a system level overview of networking technologies that are big winners in the marketplace, explores the SONET/SDH and DWDM evolution, and attempts to understand the vision of Fast and Gigabit Ethernet networks.
