Abstract
Industrial synthesis of ammonia (Haber-Bosch (HB) process) requires high pressures (~ 30 MPa) and high temperatures (500°C) to achieve high yields of NH3. As a promising alternative, non-equilibrium plasma promoted NH3 synthesis can produce NH3 under atmospheric pressures and low temperatures. However, the overall energy efficiency of the NH3 synthesis in plasma must be greatly improved.
