Abstract
Optical fibre primary coating may be exposed to hydrophobic waterblocking gels (filling compounds) during their lifetime. It is necessary to carry out tests to verify the compatibility of the primary coatings with waterblocking gels. The paper focuses on the fact that each stage of the test is important for obtaining reliable results. One of these important steps is the procedure for cleaning samples from filling compound after their exposure in the gel at elevated temperature.
