Abstract
Drone can be used to perform a visual inspection of the machine's condition in the shop floor area of the factory. In this work, a drone has been created to reduce the duration of visual inspections and to do object detection on milling and grinding machines. To carry out the functionality, it is necessary to have system parts that are useful for providing visual data for inspectors and the drone pilot. This article discusses the design, implementation, and testing of product parts related to image acquisition from a visual sensor, image data transmission to an off-board computer, and machine object detection. There are four product specifications related to these parts, which are video frame rate, video delay, bounding box accuracy, and detection functionality. The results obtained from the tests are in accordance with what has been specified.
