Abstract

The ecological transition is a change towards a new model of society that provides a solution to environmental challenges. It involves transforming most sectors of activity, including agriculture. Logically, the same applies to agronomy and the profession of agronomist. This transformation concerns both the perimeter of the system under consideration and its expected functions, as well as the capacity of farmers to design and implement changes. First of all, it is necessary to go beyond the cultivated field of pure species considered over the duration of a rotation to integrate diversified stands and larger scales (e.g. the landscape).
