Abstract
Various online learning platforms have evolved as trends in education in the field of open-distance teaching and learning. However, until now, identifying and understanding on the behavior and intention of users for online learning platform remains a vital concern as the awareness and acceptance ratio of these platforms are still low among the Malaysians, especially the urban poor. The objective of this paper is to discuss on a proposed acceptance framework of online learning platform for urban poor communities. This study aims to identify the factors that will influence the users’ behavioral intention to accept online learning platform. A pilot test was performed to consider the reliability of the factors through a survey. Thus, data for pilot testing was collected via an online survey which 35 respondents are from Klang Valley area to assess their awareness and feedback on Online Learning Platforms. The results have shown that most of the factors in the proposed acceptance framework are reliable. Therefore, the factors of the proposed acceptance framework are relevance and acceptable for future real test on a larger scale. It is hoped that the proposed acceptance framework can be beneficial in taking into concern the factors for ensuring users are intent to participate and can get advantages from the online learning platform technology.
