PCS network architectures: a comparative look

Abstract

The paper identifies several network architectures which could be used to deploy personal communications services (PCS) both in the near term and in the long term. Emphasis is placed on architectural viability, not marketable solutions. Advantages and disadvantages of each architecture are presented, along with how each architecture would support handover. A comparative look at architectural combinations is also presented to support high-tier and low-tier PCS.<>
