Abstract
The purpose of this study was to identify cold water immersion therapy for post-exercise recovery. The method used is a literature study or systematic literature review. This data collection uses the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) method. Based on the results of the literature review, the core of cold therapy is to absorb calories from the local area of injury so that there is a decrease in temperature. Cold Water Immersion is beneficial for improving physiological and psychological recovery after exercise, especially as it reduces delayed onset muscle soreness. Cold Water Immersion is useful for improving the quality of subsequent training and ultimately competitive performance through better recovery and the cumulative effect of increasing the quality and quantity of exercise.
