Abstract
This paper presents a new dual quasi Z-Source (qZS) based T-type five level inverter with HERIC structure for PV system with the merits of single stage boosting, reduced device count, higher efficiency and reliability. The proposed topology is capable of providing reactive power support, which is an essential requirement of present PV inverters. Moreover, the high frequency oscillations due to the common mode voltage(CMV) are reduced by the passive filter, which also limits leakage current within the standards for transformer less operation. Level shifted PWM control scheme is implemented to study the steady state and dynamic behavior of the proposed topology in MATLAB environment. Finally, a detailed comparison is made with the existing topologies in the literature to highlight the merits of the proposed topology.
