Abstract

There are multiple industrial and scientific applications which demand high end computations and involve complex input-output interfaces. These mission critical applications must be completed reliably within specified time deadline and must run without any interruption for long durations. These types of application cannot be implemented on a general purpose computer system. Therefore for such application Real-Time operating systems with specialized hardware is an essential requirement. In present work a mission critical Count Down Time generation application has been implemented on a Real-Time operating system with specialized hardware. Real-Time system based CDT generation systems are used for launch of flight vehicles in a Test Range. Performance evaluation of this CDT generation system will be presented here.
