Abstract
Pedestrians and vehicles are the main objects of evacuation. However, current evacuation models largely overlook the interaction between these two agents. This paper develops an agent-based model, which takes the interaction of pedestrians and vehicles into account, to discuss the influence of capacity and quantity of transportation infrastructures on evacuation efficiency when haze or heat wave happens in tourist areas. We discuss the evacuation efficiency by adjusting the number of entered pedestrians and vehicles, and the width of roads in tourist areas. In addition, this research obtains the optimal adaption strategy by discussing the cost/benefit of the adjustment in practical environment.
