Abstract

A planar notch antenna with the UWB operational characteristics is fed by the transmission line of microstrip in nature having the concentric circular element of radiation which is suitably embedded with a slotted U-shape to notch out the band of 5/6 GHz (WLAN) band from the entire UWB band has been proposed in this manuscript. The notch antenna having UWB characteristics which is proposed exhibited the high rejection capability, the characteristics of the peak gain of appropriate nature and pattern of radiation of stable in nature in the UWB band of operation except the notched band of 5/6 GHz.
