Abstract

This paper describes a method for extending the power-transmitting distance of a wireless power transfer (WPT) system by applying a Q-value enhancement technique. The effectiveness of the method has been verified by experiments, calculations and circuit simulations. Results revealed that transmitting power, transfer efficiency, and transmitting distance were all increased. The reachable distance of the power was extended 1.5 times that of the current one when the Q-value enhancement technique was applied to a coil in the receiver.
