O Núcleo Ciência pela Infância: Avaliação de efetividade

Abstract

This paper portrays the Núcleo Ciência pela Infância evaluation process. The evaluation was conducted from August 2020 to May 2021 using mixed methods with successive approximations of reality, in order to answer four evaluative questions. The evaluation recognized NCPI as an important auxiliary force in the constitution of the early childhood development field in Brazil, mobilizing a policy community responsible for significant legal and infra-legal achievements. The paper also demonstrates how the evaluation contributed to redesign NCPI’s new strategic phase, revealing an interesting case of synergy between evaluation and planning.
