Abstract

In this chapter, we will provide a managerial view of computer hardware and software; discuss the benefits and opportunities offered by networks and telecommunications; review major types of telecommunications networks; explain how wireless/mobile communication can help an organisation conduct business anytime, anywhere, anyplace; and discuss challenges managers are facing when making decisions on hardware, software, networks, and telecommunications.
