Integrated Computer-based System For Medical Assistance In Emergencies

Abstract

Medical assistance in catastrophes is an unsolved problem for several reasons. The application of communication and computer technologies is introduced in the different phases of the actuation. On this research, a model of assistance in catastrophes is developed, based on an expert system for triage classification and a general center for the coordination of all data and resources, providing the neccesary transfer of information between the site of the emergency and the other centers involved. Some guidelines related to system integration are given as a essential part of the project.
