Abstract

A compact on-chip bandpass filter based on the half mode substrate integrated waveguide (HMSIW) is presented in this paper. The passband response is realized by the quasi-TEM mode of the HMSIW resonator. The slot is etched on the top of the resonator to adjust the performance of the passband. A HMSIW bandpass filter with the a frequency of 18.39 GHz is designed. The fractional bandwidth is 13.27%, the insert loss and the return loss in the passband are 0.86 and 25.26 dB respectively.
