Abstract

In this paper, a high-gain sinuous antenna is proposed for 1–10 GHz applications, which is mainly composed of a planar sinuous antenna, a cone-shaped reflective backplate and a dielectric lens. The operation mechanism of the ultra-wideband lens antenna is analyzed in detail. The simulated and measured results demonstrate that the VSWR of the antenna is less than 2 in the whole operation band, and the maximum gain approaches 12 dB.
