Abstract
This paper presents an approach to pedestrian detection that relies on a variable sized detection window. Its main aim is to facilitate a faster detection while maintaining a high detection rate. Speed-up is achieved by an efficient region of interest selection method and a clever detection system architecture. These two contributions can potentially enable realtime pedestrian detection on monocular images.
